Can you tell me about your research interests and focus?
My research interests lie in developing intelligent audio systems and sensing technologies, to promote human well-being in everyday life and support seamless human-computer interfaces. I design and build mobile systems which integrate sensors (acoustics, radar, IMU, etc.), real-time signal processing, and machine learning algorithms.
What are the research accomplishments that you are most proud of?
I am particularly proud of ToMoBrush, my first lead project at CMU, which received the Best Demo Award at MobiSys and a top industrial design award. Additionally, I am honored to be a recipient of the Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship for my work in mobile health.
Can you tell me about the work culture and environment at CMU?
I feel incredibly fortunate to study in such a vibrant environment. Working alongside my brilliant labmates and advisor, I have the freedom to explore the world’s most exciting research challenges without restriction.
Can you share a little known fact about yourself?
An interesting fact about my undergraduate years is that I served as a Teaching Assistant for an ultimate frisbee course and organized many ultimate frisbee games across the campus.
